Its the end of the world as we know it now! Forget bat flu!
He’s just coming back to raise the prices again. Should back peddle on the prices would help increase their return.
How can you run the parks with fewer employees? Why take jobs away from people at a time like this? If people aren’t working they can’t spend their money in your merchandise! And believe me your cast members do! I know one of them!
Half the rides need max 10+ cms to control lines forget the rest of it! Plus now you got to think someone is going to have the thankless cleaning job like stroller parking in rotation! Its crazy to think this doesnt he get how rides wrk! Its unfair to cms and guests!
I read the article and he wants to downsize employees. Not a good move in my opinion. Why get rid of people at a time like this when they will need the jobs and money!
I like that he realized his many years experience would help the current leaders in this situation and stepped back up. I don’t like it that some people think he stepped down to avoid dealing with the virus. Maybe he’d had his retirement planned out already prior to this pandemic. Or maybe he’s old and felt he just needed to stay home so he wouldn’t die from the virus. Also, now that he has stepped back up, he probably is putting himself in danger you know.
I totally agree with you
Soon Chapek will have a new title/role or even resign his CEO position. He has been silent throughout this pandemic providing absolutely no leadership and making zero public comment on the mess unfolding at the Mouse House. I think Iger saw this happening and felt the void and need to step back in and provide direction and leadership to the Company. I see Chapek’s days as numbered now. When the announcement was made that Chapek was being promoted to CEO I said it would be a disaster waiting to happen. Never expected it to happen so quickly. Chapek will either get a new title/role at Disney or he may just submit his resignation which would be the appropriate thing for him to do at this point as a failed senior executive. He’s not worth the money. Give him a severance and show him the door.
Bring back Tom Staggs as well. He knew that Disney needed to lean out way before all of this happened. The people with ideas need to be empowered not pushed down, shoved to the side and ignored. Also, hire me to help build strategy for the future.
Downsize employees LOL Disney can barely manage their guest as it is. Downsizing will only make things more chaotic and more frustrating for guest.
One word…Karma! Don’t be greedy Disney!! You keep raising prices higher and higher!!! I m a DVC member and it’s getting to the point where it’s too expensive to even come there. I can’t imagine what it cost for a family who doesn’t have DVC pays! Make Disney Great AGain! Lower the prices offer great deals and great park prices when this pandemic ends!! ????
We say this all the time too as DVC how did we ever come on vacation wo it its one less expense in the greater insanity that is wdw!
I wonder if he means like the parades and entertainers around the park will be let go. They aren’t necessary, their awesome, but unfortunately not necessary for the running of the park.
I also wonder if Chapek is sick? Maybe he caught the virus and can’t lead right now.
The world may never know.
Ent isnt his sector he can want to get rid of he has no say! Disney ent performers are under equity rule not disney!
I agree with you! We want to go back to Disneyworld because we haven’t been in 6 years because it has become too high. Would love to go back❤️Make Disney affordable again, Please?
This is the best news for Disney, with your knowledge and experience, and everything you do everyday to keep Disney going.I am happy with his decision and choices.
I don’t know how having less employees will help at all. I imagine when they re-open people will flock to the parks. I know I am dying to go since my vacation was cancelled the first week that they closed. Employees are so crucial to the smooth running of the parks . I appreciate cast members so much as they always give great customer service. I hope they don’t increase prices any more to make-up for their losses. With fair pricing they will keep business booming and hopefully recover in the near future.
Dear Bob, I am so happy to hear u r back at the helm. I have a Great Idea for a series that could propel Disney into the future. I am sure u have heard this many times. One time reach out to an unknown & ask, it will only take a phone call. Thanks. Linda
I don’t mind him taking back control to help out with this crisis, he certainly knows the business, but I work for Disney and the idea of fewer cast members makes me wonder if I will still have a job when this is over.
