Update: The Rainforest Cafe is also reportedly closing its doors. However, no official statement has been made yet.

Original Story:

It was too good to be true. When Walt Disney World announced that it will be closing its theme parks, Disnaics were told that the shopping and dining district, Disney Springs, would remain open. Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. All Disney-owned-and-operated establishments will be closing today, March 17, 2020. And while all non-Disney shops and restaurants are not forced to close, several are deciding to temporarily shut their doors anyway.

Here are all the non-Disney-owned restaurants that we know are closing at Disney Springs. Note that these are sit-down restaurants and several quick-service restaurants haven’t yet release statements announcing their closure:

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’

Closing Date: March 16, 2020

Official Statement: 

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Florida Kitchen will temporarily close today at 10 p.m. Along with the Walt Disney Company and our neighbors at @DisneySprings, we are monitoring the developments of the COVID-19 situation and are taking all the recommended precautions and directives. We will continue to update our hours of operation as we have new information to share. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution and we look forward to welcoming you back home soon. Until then, stay healthy and stay safe. 

Wine Bar George

Closing Date: March 16, 2020

Official Statement: 

In an abundance of caution and in the best interest of our guests and team members Wine Bar George will close at 10PM on Monday, March 16. We will continue to update our hours of operation as we have new information to share. We will continue to stay in close contact with the appropriate officials and health experts and look forward to welcoming you back at the proper time.

Official Statement:

In response to the increasing risk of COVID-19 and to help encourage social distancing, we have temporarily closed #JaleoDC, #JaleoCC, #JaleoMD, #JaleoLV, and #JaleoDisneySprings. We will repurpose the D.C.-area restaurants as “community kitchens” with a limited takeout menu available for purchase at flexible pricing from 12pm to 5pm daily from our side doors beginning this Tuesday.
