Walt Disney World has shared the latest update regarding theme park closures and how it will affect future trips. MagicBand orders have been stopped for the time being.

At the time of this article’s publication, Disney World is only scheduled to close for a total of two weeks, and the initial announcement of the closure stated that the theme parks would be reopening on April 1.

However, as more information continues to be revealed, state and local governments continue to push for social distancing and self-quarantining, and healthcare officials recommend against group gatherings for several more weeks, many continue to wonder if the parks will actually be reopening at the beginning of April.

The latest development regarding how the theme park closures may affect spring and summer Disney World vacations comes from the MagicBand page on the My Disney Experience portion of the Walt Disney World Resort official website. As of today, Disney World has halted all new MagicBand orders.

MagicBands are your key to Walt Disney World. When you stay on property, you receive one complimentary as part of your resort hotel stay. They can be the key to your room, hold your theme park tickets and FastPass+, have payment information, and can hold your Disney Dining Plan credits.

Generally, guests who are staying at a Disney World Resort hotel have to order their MagicBands up to 11 days before their arrival to receive them in the mail and up to 6 days before their arrival if they want their MagicBands to be shipped to their resort. However, many guests like confirming their MagicBand color/style earlier and tend to place the order long before the 11-day mark.

According to the update, guests who have already ordered their MagicBands who have been notified that their MagicBand has been shipped will, in fact, still receive their MagicBand orders in the mail. Those who have not yet received a shipping notification for their MagicBands are instructed to wait for additional updates from Disney regarding their orders and vacations.

Disney also shared a more specific update, which you can read below:
