I feel bad for them! I hope they have somewhere to go!

4 days to vacate housing is a bit harsh

  2. Trust the truth

Interviewer: i see you did cp at wdw and you left aburptly may i ask why?
Cp: I was pissed wdw evicted me bc of corona!
Interviewer: Did they give you explanation?
CP: yea but i still didn’t think it was fair! So most of us at epcot left!
Interviewer: well to me it seems your just not willing to do your job your being paid for because everyone was paid during corona!
CP: but thats so long ago you can not think i would do that now?
Interviewer: you walked out on a major company like disney whose saying you wont do that here???

At the least Disney might have allowed everyone to stay in the housing. Where to go now?

      1. Jackie

Its called disney is still paying them right plenty of apartments around… tell them all to act like adults and deal w it

    2. Cam

This headline is misleading. They were told to leave mid shift. Most of them did not walk out by choice.

My daughter is in the Disney College Program. The kids that left midshift were told to go. They were devestated to be losing their friends and dream jobs, they were crying at work, and the park attendance at Epcot was low. They cannot just find other apartments in Orlando- they are now jobless and we’re paying only a couple hundred dollars a month at Disney housing. This is a very competitive program that many kids apply to multiple times to just get in. Please don’t jump to conclusions about the College Program. Participants’ loyalty or work ethic.

      2. Mark

Kim are you serious??? How much do you think real cms get paid same sort of nothing and yet they have an actual apartment and now they are jobless for the time being too… but they are making do bc they are grown adults w lifes! No one is going to listen to cp sob stories! Tell you children to grow up esp if they want to wrk a real job!

My son was in the program but he is working his shifts up til tonight when they close, I can’t imagine they were expected to just drop everything and leave mid shift. They told him a similar story that he will be paid through the end if the month and will receive his course completion so he can apply for a regular position.
I feel bad for the CPs that were counting on the full time period for pay and the experience. Monday I will be helping him find a job while he applies back to Disney as a regular CM, he really loved working there. For him getting the completion early wasn’t really a bad thing as he wanted to work full time for them so now he doesn’t have to wait to apply.
Thank you for writing this article and bringing light to the CPs as they often get overlooked not being part of a Union.

I wish your son the best during this challenging time. We just came back from DW two days ago, and the restaurants and servers at Epcot are always stellar.

My son is there too he is looking for an apartment and roommates. Maybe our sons can meet up. They have the same plan . Bgm11777@yahoo.com

Saw nothing like that and we were there till close. It was just like any other night. Don’t believe the lies on this!

    1. Harley

I agree please do not believe this i assure you from the cps i met this is a business learning tool the first rule of business walking out on a job will not look good for the next… besides many cps if they love it here which i knew many apply to become the best cms i seen there still at the parks today w 15yr pins while the drunks i knew went home! Like jeff son above i pray they all love disney enough to know the door is open for em! I never seen disney not shut a door even if you left on good terms you have to wait a period of time but you could always return!

This is a very poorly written article, full of redundancy. Does an editor even look at this? At least the author should re-read the work. I’m sorry, but come on, have some pride in your work.

  6. Dustin Crawley

If you’re at the parks on vacation, you are the problem. I can’t believe how moronic people are. IMHO Disney handled this as well as possible for a company of their size.

    1. Jackie

Actually disney has always been an escape from reality for one moment till right before hell broke loose people were there having fun and loving life! If you get sick ever in your life did you ever stop living your life bc of it????

  7. This is so stupid and my prayer goes out to those who are affected by this paranoia fear driven propaganda that CNN and others are using to try and negatively affect President Trump. It’s the Communist Chinese who are to blame and I guarantee that they are sitting around laughing at the terror they have caused the West. Wake Up America and Pray to God to destroy this virus.

I honestly believe it bc china is already back to normal! But i also believe drs in china went to a bar and said what should we name this flu so people panic! Stay safe david and everyone esp the cps being sent home! Besides many people i speak to were sick early this same symptoms and time we are ok! Give something a name its all a shame!

      1. Bryan B

China is far from back to normal. Do you have a television set?

    2. Amy

When you say “this is so stupid” do you mean your comment? Yeah, people are contracting this and dying all over the world to make trump look bad… He looks bad without their help. And praying wont help you. Hand washing and self quarantine might.

      1. Jamie

Omg are you seriously believing the media??? Wow wake up i was sick w this early in the yr before it was named was very sick bad immune system but never once thought i was dying! Yes i know the #s too and more still died from the flu past few yrs! Do you remember swine flu still nowhere near those #s! Maybe you should wake up!

4 days to find new housing is pretty extreme

  9. Brian

Who edits your articles? When a headline is this horribly written, you must be looking for new editors.

    1. No rose tinted glasses for me

What do you think regular cms are paid lady more??? Welcome to the real side of wdw! Tell you kid to act like an adult and figure it out bc most of cms are tech jobless now and their making due or waiting to go back maybe they should try and become a regular cm! Just bc wdw isnt open doesn’t mean they arent taking job applicants!

DCP participant here! My international roommates had to find a way to pay $2000+ to get home, and everyone who doesn’t have a car has to go to the Orlando airport where confirmed virus cases exist. I don’t see how sending nearly 10,000 people back to where they came from all over the world is really “for our safety”. They say they will invite us back, but many of us can’t afford to come back, or simply don’t have the choice to because we need to continue our own college paths.

Hi! Were you asked to travel during this terrifying time? The money they paid us was a minimum and it wouldn’t nearly cover international travel or potential hospital bills. With all of the program fees and things I had to pay to be there, I barely broke even and still missed a semester of school.
