We had a trip booked for last week. Obviously, they closed and we couldn’t go. A friend of mine, who is also a DVC member, has given me 98 of her vacation points so that we could go on the trip. Her husband had been battling stage 4 bladder cancer (and sadly, passed away a month after giving us the points) and their points expire in May, so they did not want them to go to waste. In an uncharacteristically non-Disney way, when she and I called to change the reservation, they would not extend the use of her points to June so that they would not be lost. These are extenuating circumstances, and we were shocked by the response.

DVC has refused to refund or credit my points! My use year is April and we had a vacation booked beginning March 29th 2020. They are in effect stealing our 256 points! The parks will be closed but they are keeping our points! This is Disney?

I just hung up from talking to Heidi. Have a visit scheduled for April 10-16. Our city is in a mandatory stay at home with Covid-19 cases going up everyday. I was told I could not have my points back and if I cancelled I had to use them by the 31st of May or put them to RCI by the 17 th of April. I ask if I could use them in November in conjunction with a cruise. That was not possible either. Very frustrated! This virus was not anything anybody could have imagined. Not controllable by you(Disney) or by your membership. Theses are extenuating circumstances which should be considered.
