By now, chances are you have heard the news. All Disney parks worldwide have made the decision to close down temporarily due to the health concerns of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak. Because of this decision, many guests who were planning trips are now facing the challenge of canceling, rescheduling, or cutting their dream vacations short.

Just yesterday, we reported on how Disney was discouraging guests with trips later than three days away from calling the Walt Disney World Resort helpline due to high call volume. The company was working hard to prioritize guests that had trips planned sooner rather than later.
We just learned that now an updated way of canceling trips has been added to the website to assist guests in making these cancellations on their own, relieving some of those long wait times many were experiencing.
If you had a trip planned during the temporary closure dates of March 15, 2020, to March 31, 2020, there is now an online tool available that will allow you to cancel certain vacation packages for Disneyland® Resort hotel rooms and Walt Disney Travel Company without having to call and speak to a Cast Member.

Likewise, if you were planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, you will be able to cancel select vacation packages online if they were booked online and if there are no third-party components in the package. To find out, simply log into your My Disney Experience account and if your package is eligible for these online cancellations, you’ll be able to see the tool to do so.
It is also important to note that if you booked with a travel agent, you should reach out to them directly to have them assist you in your rebooking or cancellation.
We know all Cast Members and travel agents are currently working very diligently trying to keep up with the guest demand. It’s a challenging time for them as it is for all guests who had planned and dreamed up magical visits and are now facing this disappointment.
We hope we can all focus on the positive, staying healthy, and looking forward to future magical visits, hopefully very soon!
