What would your childhood have been like if every animated Disney movie actually had realistic dialogue and storylines? While we absolutely love Disney movies — from the classic favorites to the more modern films — we also know that often, they aren’t the most realistic. So when we saw that one artist reimagined Disney movies with more realistic dialogue and themes, we knew we had to share!
Santiago Esperanza is a highly creative artist who created some pretty hilarious comics depicting Disney movies in more realistic ways. From Frozen to Tangled to Lady and the Tramp, Esperanza really thought of how we would view Disney characters differently if they lived in the real world.
If you’re interested in even more reimagined Disney artwork, we’ve got you covered! One artist reimagined Disney Princesses as though they were normal people, and the results are hilarious. And another artist reimagined Disney characters based on their original concept art.
You can view Esperanza’s work on his website or follow the artist on Instagram for even more creative pieces. Below we have included some of our favorite works of his that show what our favorite Disney films would look like if they were actually more like real-life situations.
Lady and the Tramp
Here’s how dogs actually eat spaghetti:

Sleeping Beauty
Don’t you think Aurora would see right through Phillip’s pick-up line?

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs
That Magic Mirror is onto something…

The Little Mermaid
Prince Eric’s reaction sounds about right.

Beauty and the Beast
Does love really conquer all?

Tarzan
We don’t think Tarzan would know how to brush his teeth if he were really raised in the jungle…

Aladdin
A more practical use of wishes…think Genie would have been up for this alternative?

Frozen
This one tugs at our heartstrings. We just love this scene in the animated film!

Lilo & Stitch
Nani is right…

101 Dalmatians
She has a point!

Alice in Wonderland
More than likely, Alice would have gotten bored a lot sooner.

Tangled
This one’s pretty accurate: why wouldn’t Flynn Rider know who Rapunzel is?

Cinderella
What we’ve been thinking for years…What are the odds that Cinderella was the only young maiden in the entire kingdom with small feet?

The Nightmare Before Christmas
Need we say more?

The Princess and the Frog
Poor Naveen…

The Emperor’s New Groove
Why wasn’t this the plan all along?

Wreck-It Ralph
Time to lower the electric bill…

Robin Hood
Pretty accurate, if you ask us. This scene would have been a lot more like real life…but of course, the movie is about talking animals.

Which Disney movie would you like to see reimagined to be more realistic? Let us know in the comments!
