Shes only human and we are entitled to our own opinions and to that i respond why do i care?
I think life is too short to care and harp on politics and i am sorry you disagree in that regard! Theres more important things! Maybe we should just enjoy her works as an actress and while we do remember shes human like we all are!

Everyone is entitled to their opinions. I am not a Trump supporter and think any who supports him has a low IQ, however, just because an actor supports him doesn’t mean I won’t watch their movies. The movie has nothing to do with an actor’s personal life and the lives of everyone who were involved with the movie. It’s called being an adult and knowing how to separate people’s personal lives and their work. Clearly, this simple reasoning is lost to people like yourself.

For so many Democrats and anti trump supporters who preach so much “love” and “acceptance” of everyone and everything, they sure do antagonize anyone of an opposite view from theirs. I don’t understand how we can’t just realize that everyone has a different opinion, learn to accept it and move on. We don’t have to hate people because they don’t agree. Let’s all just be very grateful that we can express our views and opinions but love harmoniously and not subject to death and starvation like the poor people of North Korea and other communist nations. If anything, let’s thank God for that at the least.

      2. Many of those who support him had a high enough IQ to see that Hillary was in no way, a viable option. They also see a country doing very well and a President that actually keeps his promises. Obviously yours was too low to get that. as far as Ridley is concerned. I would love to always separate my politics from my entertainm” with which to further their Leftist agenda. All Ridley had to do was talk about and promote her upcoming movie! She chose another direction.

lol the cowardice behind this kind of thinking just blows my mind (talk about snowflakes–“SHE THINKS DIFFERENTLY THEREFORE I CAN’T LOOK AT HER”). So people are entitled to their opinions, so long as they agree with yours, otherwise you want nothing to do with them? This country is becoming mind-numbingly ignorant. Everyone needs to be ‘right’ to the degree that they won’t even entertain a dissenting opinion or idea. If I were surrounded by people that only thought like me it would be a boring place. Everyone’s ego is too small anymore to even allow that someone else thinks differently, or else anything that person does is something to be shunned. I don’t go to any movies or watch TV or sports and ever sit there and think “I wonder what their ideas are on the middle east?” Who cares??? Why on Earth would you let other people’s opinions shape your idea of entertainment? I can’t imagine what a safe, boring little bubble you must have to live in to get any enjoyment out of entertainment…or life for that matter….

So, DH, you can make your opinions known on the internet, but when someone else who has a different opinion speaks their mind, you are a grump and complain about it… Doesn’t make too much sense…

The Last Jedi has such memorable scenes as Leia floating in space barefaced and then still surviving. Now, for the next movie, lead actress calls 50% of fans insane. Way to go disney. I’m out.

    1. Amy

It’s hardly 50% of the fan base considering it’s not even 50% of the country. Trump is barely holding onto 30%.

      1. sane

Actually the majority of the country supports him, you are referring to the population centers in a few states as a misrepresentation of the public opinion of the country like many other misinformed leftists. The author also misrepresents love as something that has no end…Disney has made people stop loving Star Wars all the way back when they killed the extended universe and dictated what would be canon.

People are entitled to their opinion. You might not agree with it but that’s YOUR opinion. Don’t like what she says, don’t listen but don’t confuse one persons views with the making (and all those involved in the making) of the film.

    1. George

I find her comments to be very immature. Regardless of what her political may be, she is attempting to alienate folks who disagree with her. Politics and religion have always been topics best kept private.

I’m amazed that people get upset about an entertainer espousing their politics. So what if Ms. Ridley finds Trump supporters “insane”? Chris Pratt is Christian conservative, about as far politically from me as he can get. I’m still going to watch Guardians of the Galaxy. I’ll give as much consideration to Ms. Ridley’s politics as I give to Mr. Pratt’s – which is to say very, very little. Other than to find the huffing and puffing around them to be entertaining in and of itself. 🙂

    1. DTR

The difference is, in Ridley’s case, she is insulting those with whom she politically disagrees (calling them ‘not sane’). Mr. Pratt has never done any such thing.

    2. Steve-O

      Here here!

  6. DTR

Oh, it’s okay. She’s just a silly little actress, bless ‘er heart. Intelligence is actually a hinderance where actors are concerned.

  7. Mary

It’s not her differing political opinions it’s her hate speech that Trump supporters are not sane that bothers me. We can have different opinions but we can do it in a respectful way. She was not respectful with her words.

  8. Tim

It’s ok to have differing political opinions. But, calling half of the American population insane right before a huge release, who is really the insane person.

  9. Joe Nicklo

I’m more worried about Daisy Ridley being a mediocre actress and playing the leading role in a Star Wars trilogy.

She’s entitled to her political views but to insult Trump supporters saying that they’re not “sane” is childish. It’s just as childish as Trump supporters calling Liberals insane. BOTH sides need to stop acting like preschoolers fighting over who gets to play with the building blocks and just get along.

All that being said, I hope the new Star Wars is better than the last…

  10. Matt

Well, I don’t approve of anyone generalizing a large group of people, as all it does is bring out angry comments from people who feel attacked by it, but then why continue the nastiness. Just read it and move on… If you don’t agree, why continue the nastiness that you got so upset by?

These are frustrating political times on both sides of the divide, and it’s not going to get any nicer as it gets closer and closer to the upcoming election…
