Credit: DisneyDisney’s newest and greatest attractions, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, has been open for a few weeks. As expected, the highly anticipated, ground-breaking new attraction inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s edge, opened to massive crowds and Disney has been adjusting their crowd management processes frequently in order to ensure the best guest experience they can offer.
The weeks right after the ride opened, we saw several guests sharing on social media that they were arriving upwards of 4:00 A.M. to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to make sure they could join a boarding group for Rise of the Resistance. Boarding Groups would fill up so quickly that guests that didn’t arrive hours before park opening were unable to experience the attraction.
Today, we are seeing confirmed reports on Twitter that Boarding Passes are not being issued to guests upon entering the park. Rather, the Boarding Groups would be released at 7:00 A.M., which is when the park was scheduled to open this morning.

Cast Members telling guests this morning that for the first time Boarding Passes WILL NOT be available when the first guests are let into the park, but instead will be released at 7:00AM sharp (scheduled opening time).

She later updated with a screenshot from her My Disney Experience app that confirmed what she had been told by Cast Members.

Although this might have caused disappointment with guests that arrived very early to make sure they would be able to experience this attraction today, we feel this later Boarding Group schedule is a better process that levels the playing field for all visiting guests.
It is likely Disney will continue making changes and adjustments as they navigate this brand-new attraction and the high demand that is likely to continue for some time. This attraction really is worth the hassle of getting up early and waiting in line. It is like nothing we’d experienced before, and we cannot recommend it enough!
