Enjoy the magic of Disney without a park ticket…by meeting your favorite Disney characters at a Disney Character Dining location outside the theme parks!
When we think of Disney Parks, Disney characters always come to mind. But you don’t have to wait in long lines, hope to encounter a character while in Disneyland, or waste a FastPass+ reservation at Disney World in order to meet Mickey Mouse and friends. Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort offer a variety of options for meeting characters — and the best experiences don’t even require a Disney theme park ticket!
We absolutely love meeting Disney characters when we go to the parks. But often, the best character interactions are at Character Dining locations! These restaurants allow you to spend more time interacting with your favorites like the Disney Princesses and the Fab Five. And while we love utilizing PhotoPass at character meet and greet locations in the theme parks, we almost love taking our own photos of those special, candid moments while meeting characters as we feast on a delicious meal at one of the Disney Resort hotels.
Some character dining locations even feature rare Disney characters that you can’t often meet in the parks, like Flynn Rider, Prince Eric, Dopey, Grumpy, and more. Character dining can sometimes cost a pretty penny, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t worth it. You get to meet your favorite Disney characters with no line and eat delicious food in the process. Some of the breakfasts are all-you-can-eat and served family-style or in a buffet, meaning you can have all the Mickey waffles, French toast, and other breakfast and brunch foods you could ask for. Plus, you can apply your annual passholder discount or even use Disney Dining Plan credits on your meal, too.
Additionally, since you don’t need a theme park ticket to enjoy Character Dining at the Disney Resort hotels, they make great meals for a rest day when you plan to relax and enjoy the Disney atmosphere without going into a park.
Below is a list of all of the dining locations located at Disney Resort hotels at Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
