Credit: DisneyThe holidays kick off at the Disneyland Resort this weekend, and this season comes with all new performances at the Disney Festival of Holidays! This Disney California Adventure-exclusive event follows the park’s theme of celebrating the diversity of Southern California through the holiday season with an array of festive outdoor kitchens, crafts, and Disney characters.
And if you love characters, you’ll need to visit the park during the festival for the season’s newest character celebration, Mickey’s Happy Holidays. The festivities feature Disney and Pixar characters in an interactive dance party with live music provided by the Holiday Toy Drummers. It’s sure to be an exciting event for the whole family! Add Mickey’s Happy Holidays to your to-do list and find all the fun at the Paradise Gardens Park and Carthay Circle.
Holiday Sunset Concerts on the Palisades Stage featuring the Suffragettes is another new addition for this year’s festival. On select nights throughout the holiday season, find this cover band out performing some of today’s most popular hits with a little extra Christmas cheer thrown in the mix. This stage will also set the scene for the West Coast’s Little Big-Band, Phat Cat Swinger, who is set to perform their own unique takes on holiday classics.
Fan-favorites are returning to this year’s entertainment scene along with these new bands including Blue 13 Dance Company, which offers a high-energy celebration of Diwali by combining contemporary Bollywood with traditional Indian folk dances. Hanukkah comes to live in Disney California Adventure this season with Mostly Kosher, a concert that culminates in the blending of Klezmer, Jazz, and Rock & Roll.
It wouldn’t be the holidays without carolers so the park also offers a cappella performances by The Sound, a talented group that celebrates Christmas and Kwanzaa through their impressive harmonies. The Mariachi Divas (who recently won a Grammy award!) also get in on the park’s holiday magic to present musical tribute to Navidad.
Along with all of the above, the Holiday Toy Drummers, ¡Viva Navidad! with The Three Caballeros and Santa’s Holiday Visit at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail round out the seasonal merriment at Disney California Adventure. The entire Disney Festival of the Holidays and all of the new and returning entertainment will run from November 8-January 6, 2020.
