Credit: DisneyDisneyland fans, rejoice! Two of our favorite festivals — Lunar New Year and Food & Wine Festival — are returning once again in 2020, and we can’t wait to attend them.
If you’re looking to plan a trip to Disneyland Resort in 2020 and want to know the best time of year to book your trip, this guide to Lunar New Year and the Food & Wine Festival could help you decide whether you want to attend one of these events (or better yet, both!). Here’s what we know so far about each of these fan-favorite festivals returning to Disney California Adventure in just a few months.
Lunar New Year
This has quickly become one of our favorite events of the year at Disneyland Resort. Disney California Adventure’s Lunar New Year celebrates the cultures and traditions of China, Korea, and Vietnam with performances, activities, decorations, merchandise, and of course cuisine — making this festival a foodie’s paradise!
This year’s Lunar New Year commemorates the Year of the Mouse and will include several Disney characters in the celebration. You can even meet Mickey and Minnie in their celebratory outfits And like last year, Milan’s Lunar New Year Procession with Mulan and Mushu is back!
Lunar New Year takes place at Disney California Adventure from January 17 through February 9. We don’t yet know what food will be served during Lunar New Year in 2020, but if it’s anything like this year’s menus, it’s sure to be delicious. Food & Wine Festival
Would the west coast or east coast Disney Parks be complete without a Food & Wine Festival (yes, we’re looking at you Epcot!). Just like Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival, Disney California Adventure’s Food & Wine Festival offers unique eats and beverages, only the west coast version is dedicated to serving up California-inspired dishes!
You can taste your way through California, enjoy live entertainment, and partake in culinary seminars and demonstrations that will make any foodie want to become a chef. You can also purchase the Sip and Savor Pass, which will allow you to get the most out of the festival by providing you with a great deal on items offered. This pass is perfect for those visiting in groups or returning guests. And of course, Chef Goofy is back to entertain the kids! Disney hasn’t revealed the menus yet for this year’s festival, but we’re sure the food and drinks will be better than ever.
