A nine-year-old boy with leukemia just found out he’s getting his dream vacation: a trip to the Most Magical Place on Earth, Walt Disney World!

Logan Chevalier, an elementary-aged child from Bardstown, Kentucky with Down syndrome, has been undergoing treatment for Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia for the past two years. He’s had to miss school and fun events with friends because of his medical treatment. But soon on his Walt Disney World vacation, he’ll get to just be a kid.

Logan just found out that he’s going on the trip of a lifetime to Walt Disney World, and he seems as excited as ever. Local news station WDRB reports that Logan ran around the room like Dash from Disney-Pixar’s “The Incredibles” because he was so happy to find out that his wish to go on a Disney vacation has come true.

“What do you want to do at Disney World?” Logan’s mother, Stacey, asked, to which the young boy simply replied, “Ride rides.”

Logan’s family vacation to Disney World was made possible by the local Kentucky and Southern Indiana chapter of Make-A-Wish Foundation, as well as a local Kentucky Big-O Tires store.

“It’s a great thing to do, and it’s a great way to help a family who is going through the issues they’re going through,” said Greg Kimberlin on behalf of Big-O Tires. “It just allows the entire family to escape and be a family and be a kid.”

With the help of funding from Big-O Tires and the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Logan and his family (including his parents and two older brothers) get to take a Walt Disney World vacation for one week at the end of this month.

Logan’s mother, Stacey, shared that life can be difficult at times, with one son going through leukemia and two older sons. “Life doesn’t stop,” she said.

We truly hope that this much-needed vacation will give the Chevalier family the chance for a fresh start. And what better place to celebrate life and family togetherness than Walt Disney World?

Kids like Logan and his grateful family are proof that Disney magic can truly bring a smile to anyone’s face. Logan nears the end of his treatment and he is expected to be done with chemotherapy in December. We wish Logan a speedy recovery and we hope the Chevalier family has a magical trip.
