Disney announced that they will re-release every “Star Wars” movie on Blu-Ray next month with brand new cover artwork.

Every movie in “The Skywalker Saga,” including “Rogue One,” and “Solo: A Star Wars Story,” will be re-released with a brand-new twist on each iconic poster pictured below:

Whether the change in cover art was necessary or not, it is clear that Disney is ensuring a sense of uniformity for every single piece of this box set. But little else is known about what will make this new collection collectible.

“Star Wars” fans are still without the original theatrical cut of the original trilogy. It would be amazing to finally offer those on Blu-Ray. Of course, there has been talk about Disney prepping the original theatrical cuts for Blu-Ray release, but that’s all it’s been thus far: talk.

Still, even if Disney just gives us the Special Edition versions, there is a “collectible” quality to this re-release. Especially if Disney decides to change up the artwork again once “The Rise of Skywalker” makes arrives on home release. There is still something to be said for having a library tangible copies of films in your home in this ultra-digitized age.

The eight “Episodes” will be released together with the matching “Star Wars Stories” “Rogue One,” and “Solo” to be released separately. They will be made available on September 22.

This latest “Star Wars” news comes on the heels of other news from the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland at the start of the summer and at Walt Disney World this month, to the announcement of an Obi-Wan Series on Disney+ possibly with Ewan McGregor.

The Skywalker Saga is set to close when “The Rise of Skywalker” hits theaters this November. But with Galaxy’s Edge and the promised Disney+ shows like “The Mandalorian,” there are plenty of new adventures to be had going forward.

Will you be purchasing these new editions of the “Star Wars” films next month? Let us know in the comments!
