Marvel Studios just recently confirmed the company has plans for a “Black Panther 2.” However, besides the reveal of a sequel, the company has not officially shared any solid details about the film. But from a new report, it seems Marvel Studios may have already decided upon a villain for the ferocious follow-up.
Currently, the untitled “Black Panther 2” is in pre-production by Marvel Studios with little details revealed of the project. However, a new report by We Got This Covered claims a reliable source informed the outlet that the plot will revolve around Wakanda coming under attack from another ruler looking to take it under their control.
Who will this evil ruler be you might ask? According to We Got This Covered’s source, it was said that Marvel was going back and forth between a few different characters from Marvel Comics, but now it’s believed the company has selected Namor to be the main antagonist of the film.
Beyond revealing his identity, not much else is known about Namor’s character in the film. For those not familiar with Marvel Comics, Namor is considered a Sub-Mariner–the son of a human sea captain and a princess of the undersea kingdom of Atlantis.
The villain is known to have super-strength, aquatic abilities, superhuman powers, and the ability to fight. Now, as to whether Namor will have all of these abilities in the new film is unknown. If Marvel Studios were to keep true to the comic book character, it would be exciting to see the new villain in the MCU. It would also be the first villain in the universe to be tied to the sea.
