Calling all 90s babies: “Aladdin” and “The Lion King” coming to Switch, PS4, Xbox One

Attention 90s babies — get ready for this. Remember the vintage “Aladdin” and “The Lion King” video games? Well, what if I told you they are making a comeback?

It was just confirmed that the re-release collection featuring Disney’s “Aladdin” and “The Lion King” will be coming to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. “Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King” will be getting a boxed retail version for these consoles on top of digital versions. Xbox and Playstation will also release physical versions.

Originally released in 1993 and 1994, “Aladdin” and “The Lion King” were popular games launched on the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo consoles.

What should we look for that may differ from the original games? Some of the features that have already been confirmed for “Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King” are:

  • Upscaled graphics
  • Filters for visual enhancement
  • Customizable controls
  • Interactive Game Viewer
  • A rewind feature (Just in case you mess something up while fighting off Jafar or Scar).
  • A “behind-the-scenes development assets including interviews” which can be accessed in the all-new “explorable museum”
  • Art gallery
  • Music player

Though no actual release date has been revealed, we can look forward to the “Disney Classic Games: Aladdin and The Lion King” collection this fall. It will retail at $29.99 USD.
