No bones about it: Summer at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter (or at any of the theme parks in Florida and California) is hot! But a new piece of official HP merchandise is about to hit the shelves to help regenerate your hydration.
You can now pre-order a Skele-Gro reusable water bottle. Themed after the awful-tasting bone-regenerating potion from “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” this new piece of merchandise will undoubtedly pair well with any House colors. And while it is a water bottle, it will still likely store any potion.
The Skele-Gro potion is one of those details that is only featured once in the movie franchise but leaves a lasting memory. On top of the fact it is arguably one of the most downplayed potions in Rowling’s series–I mean, come on, a potion that can regrow bones? That’s pretty cool! The combination of the bottle design and potion name is a better branding example than most brands out there. Muggle marketers take note.
It is one of those extremely loud details that can stick with people who have only seen “Chamber of Secrets” maybe once or twice, yet niche enough to satisfy even the most die-hard Potterheads, and produces that awesome moment when the know-it-all fans and the know-almost-nothing fans can say “Oh, I know what that is!”
All of this, of course, does not delude the fact that carrying any reusable water bottle when visiting a theme park is a wonderful idea. It helps both the environment and your wallet and is recommended by every theme park enthusiast. Including those here at Inside the Magic.
This reusable bottle is official “Harry Potter” merchandise and you can pre-order it now on sites like Merchoid and Three Broomsticks Emporium before it is available in the Universal theme parks.
