If you’re a fan of Jungle Cruise at the Disney Parks, you’ve probably been pretty curious about the soon-to-be-released film based on the attraction ever since the project was announced. Well, filming for the all-new “Jungle Cruise” movie has officially wrapped, and after seeing Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s heartfelt social media post about it, we’re more excited to see the movie than ever before.

Johnson shared a photo about his work on the film on Instagram over the weekend, and it was met with a ton of excitement from fans. In the post, Johnson shared that production on “Jungle Cruise” had officially wrapped and he thanked his co-star Emily Blunt and the entire team who worked on the film. Here’s what Johnson had to say:

If Emily Blunt’s looks could kill

Ladies and gents, that’s an OFFICIAL WRAP of production for our DISNEY’S JUNGLE CRUISE.

To our hard working and brilliant crew and filmmakers – THANK YOU for your commitment and talent in making something great for our audience.

THANK YOU to our partner & leader of global family entertainment, the WALT DISNEY CO for the trust you’ve placed in our hands for our beloved, timeless, iconic Disney park ride known as JUNGLE CRUISE.

And finally, a heartfelt MAHALO to my one and only co-star, Emily Blunt. You play the female version of INDIANA JONES brilliantly with relentless ambition to find the one, elusive magical thing that could change humanity for the better – forever. Unfortunately, for you there’s no other skipper that knows the Amazon River like I do and all I care about is my money, my liquor and my cat. Good luck lady in trying to change the world ~ and not falling for my charm.

So much fun making this film and we can’t wait to take you all on this EPIC adventure.

That’s a wrap!

And I’ll see ya down the road.

We shared last fall that the theatrical release of “Jungle Cruise” had been pushed back to July 2020, though it was previously scheduled for an October 2019 release. At the time, no reason was given to explain the delayed release and the actors had originally wrapped filming last September, but after production was pushed back, it seems a lot of the movie had to be re-filmed. Johnson has also been sharing some recent photos of his time filming for “Jungle Cruise,” among the multitude of other projects he’s been working on. For example, the one below, which appears to be shot in a studio in May, would probably require a lot of post-production editing. Since the upcoming film will be pretty CGI-heavy in order to bring to life the magic of the Jungle Cruise attraction, we’re not surprised if Disney is taking their time perfecting the movie to get it just right.

We’re not sure why we have to wait until next summer to see “Jungle Cruise,” but with all of the other epic movies Disney has slated to premiere this year, we’re not complaining.

“Jungle Cruise” hits theaters on July 24, 2020.
