Cinco de Mayo is right around the corner and Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts are already gearing up for the holiday with delicious and adorable desserts that will be sure to have you in the spirit of the Mexican holiday! Coming to Sprinkles Cupcakes is the Strawberry Margarita and the return of the Classic Margarita cupcakes — and yes, they both contain tequila!
These “adults-only” desserts are available now through May 5 at Sprinkles Cupcakes in both Disneyland’s Downtown Disney District and at Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs entertainment complex, in addition to locations found nationwide.
The Strawberry Margarita version is made with strawberry cake, “ultra-premium” Blanco tequila-infused key lime buttercream frosting, and a “fleur de sel” rim.
According to Delish, this alcohol-infused treat just recently joined the line-up of booze-filled options as last week Sprinkles Cupcakes announced the return of its classic margarita cupcake, which features the same booze-inspired frosting, but with a key lime cake.
In their post announcing the return of the Margarita cupcake, Sprinkles wrote: “The next best thing to sipping a margarita? A margarita cupcake!”
And speaking of margaritas at Disney, just recently we saw the debut of the Dole Whip Lime Margarita, which also features tequila (Corazon Blanco Tequila), blended with Dole Whip Lime and garnished with a lime wedge.
The new drink can be found at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort at the Oasis Bar & Grill for $12.50. At the time of purchase, you can choose to add either salt or a Tajín (spicy chili-lime salt) rim.
What better way to celebrate this Mexican holiday than with these delicious margarita-inspired offerings? Especially since they’re both so sweet too!
