It’s no secret that Disney is dedicated to helping animals around the world. So when we heard that Disney was collaborating with a fashion brand to help rescue dogs in the U.S., we weren’t surprised at all.
The new collection by New York-based fashion brand Monse, in collaboration with Disney, features the iconic Disney dogs Goofy and Pluto on tees, tops, sweaters, jeans, and (best of all) even on dog sweaters. The Disney-inspired fashion line will benefit six pet rescue organizations based in New York. How awesome is that?
“I love Disney, my family goes every year to Disney World, so it’s been a lifelong dream of mine to collaborate with them,” Monse co-founder Fernando Garcia told The Hollywood Reporter. “Minnie [Mouse] and her friends came to our spring-summer 2018 show, and we’d been in touch for a while to discuss the right opportunity to work together.”
The collection features Goofy, Pluto, and the fashion line’s dog mascot Louise on 12 different styles including a wool dog sweater, limited-edition denim, silk twill cardigans, and the brand’s signature asymmetrical cotton shirts, which led to its success among celebrities from “Captain Marvel” star Brie Larson to former Disney Channel frontrunner Selena Gomez.
100% of gross proceeds from a selection of the collection will benefit New York-based charities that promote the fostering and adoption of rescue dogs. Take a look at a couple of the items that benefit dog rescues below:
“When we decided to partner with the pet rescue organizations and feature the dogs up for adoption, we immediately thought of Disney and the connection to Pluto and Goofy,” shared co-founder Laura Kim. “We especially loved Pluto, as he reminded us of the dogs being featured in the lookbook.”
The Monse founders aren’t the only ones who love incorporating adorable Disney style into their wardrobe. After taking a look at this collection, we’re itching to get our hands on some of the items (including the adorable dog sweaters!).
