Last I heard Smugglers Run was not going to be available for the opening!? Am I missing something? Please tell me it will be open!
It is the other ride, “Rise of the Resistance” that will not be open right away.
OMG I read it wrong….Such a blonde LOL
I love disney and star wars very much, but as for me the last parts became worse. I do not know whether I will look further.
I dont understand why they dont just give like a fast pass for a certain time for the rides… what happened to those. I just think these wrist bands are only going to create problems. So does that also mean if it opens at 10 and you get there at 11 you have to wait till 2pm to get it… what about the line getting into Galaxies Edge… what if that’s a couple hours long???
The Wristband and 4 hour windows are only into effect as long as you need a reservation for the land (first 3 Weeks). So you already have a pre booked time window. No standby line means no long line to get in and you can basically come wenever you want during your time window but you’ll have to leave as soon as your window is over
This process is really no different when compared to evening special events, e.g. Halloween and Christmas events.
I recommend the Logan’s run life clock …. Renewal!!!
Those Stormtroopers will need to be armed, for guests won’t leave just by being told to.
I may just try staying past my reservation just to be escorted out by storm troopers. How cool would that be?
This is the same way they clear the park before a ticket event launch as Halloween… You cannot purchase food items or ride rides without the proper color wristband once your time is up
@ alvin “This process is really no different when compared to evening special events, e.g. Halloween and Christmas events.” True. And Disney does not do a good job of actually making people without wristbands leave the park. There are many guests who do not have wristbands who stay for the fireworks and the parade and they are not forced to leave because CM”s do not check for wristbands on people staying and not going on attractions or getting food or shopping. For Star Wars diehards who just want to stay in the land after their time is up (and believe me there will be MANY) Disney will need to train and expect heir CM’s to actually enforce the time limit.

That’s the easy part. The hard part is forcing guests who are NOT trying to get on the rides, eat, or shop to leave after their time is up. If Disney does not have a process in place they are prepared to follow and have trained their CM’s to do so, they will have overcrowding and a potential fire code violation.
“Four hours is a long time in the land…Most guests are going to find that they’re ready to roll after four hours.” This is wishful thinking.
Maybe they’ll have a queue for the expired wristband folks to stand in, where stormtroopers will come by and grab a group to be escorted out. Photo op and all!
