Disney Skyliner Gondola

Today, fans finally got to see one of the gondolas coming to the Disney Skyliner transportation system at Walt Disney World. The new transportation system was first announced back in 2017 at D23 2017. Since then, only digital renderings of the system have been released by Disney.

This gondola, along with the rest of the Disney Skyliner gondola fleet, is scheduled to hit the skies over Walt Disney World in Fall 2019.

Cinematic Nighttime Experience

Another piece of news out of Walt Disney World from today’s event was the announcement of a new cinematic nighttime projection show coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Premiering May 1, as part of the 30th Anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the show will feature state-of-the-art technology to “take guests on a magical journey through more than 90 years of Disney animation.”

Guests watch as vibrant Disney projections, highlighting iconic scenes from Star Wars and Galaxy’s Edge, illuminate the giant screen in a darkened theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Soundsational Parade

Over on the west coast at Disneyland, Chapek revealed that the Soundsational Parade will be returning to Disneyland Resort. The show will feature an all-new float with Mickey, who will lead the celebration down Main Street, U.S.A.

Mickey’s Mix Magic

Another piece of entertainment announced to come to Disneyland from today’s Destination D event is the all-new nighttime show “Mickey’s Mix Magic.” Premiering January 18, this new show will brighten the night at Disneyland Park with brand-new music, projections and lasers, which will set the scene for the ultimate dance party.

Animated fireworks light up a giant screen inside a dark venue, captivating guests with dazzling colors and effects that evoke the excitement of nighttime spectaculars at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
