During San Diego Comic-Con 2018, Disney revealed the official portrait for Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday celebration.
Created by Disney animator Mark Henn, the portrait is titled “Spreading Happiness Around the World.” The painting was commissioned by D23, Walt Disney Archives, and Walt Disney Animation Studios, and unveiled during the “Celebrating 90 Years of Mickey Mouse with D23: The Official Disney Fan Club” panel at SDCC.
Mickey’s official birthday portrait graces the Fall 2018 cover of “Disney twenty-three,” the quarterly publication sent exclusively to D23 Gold Members. For more information on how to become a D23 member, head over to their website.
Mickey turns 90 years old on November 18, the same day his first theatrical film, “Steamboat Willie,” was released in 1928.
