Ticketing company Fandango recently launched a Fandango Prop Shop featuring official handcrafted movie prop replicas made on the Universal Studios Backlot. To start, the store has a small but cool selection of replicas from “Jurassic Park” and “Jurassic World.”
These replicas are all limited edition and come with a pretty hefty price tag, ranging from $99.99 – $24,999.99, but movie memorabilia collectors will surely be tempted. Below, see what’s currently in stock with items descriptions from Fandango.
Jurassic Park Theme Park Map Replica ($99.99) – Limited Edition: 250
Available for the first time, this limited-edition collectible brochure is a replica of the actual brochure used in the film. It includes a guide to all the Dinosaur attractions and a map to such iconic locations as the Visitor’s Center, the Safari Tour and the Viewing Towers.
Folded exactly as you would have received it as a visitor to Jurassic Park, this collectible was replicated and printed on the Universal backlot. It measures 14.625″ by 16.375″ and comes packaged in a customized archival quality storage box and with a Certificate of Authentic created by the Universal Art Department.
Jurassic Park Hatched Velociraptor Egg Prop Replica ($399.99) – Limited Edition: 100
A baby Velociraptor hatchling, breaking out of its egg, inspires awe in the famous incubator scene in the original Jurassic Park film (1993). But there is also a hint of the danger to come as Ian Malcolm tells his fellow scientists “Life will not be contained, life breaks free”.
The hatched eggs featured in this scene have been recreated from the original prop used in the movie, and are now available as official prop replicas, handmade and hand-painted by the artisans on the Universal Studios backlot. Offered for the first time and in a very limited edition size, the Baby Velociraptor collectible figure was hand-molded and hand-painted by Universal Studios artisans using the same mold from the original movie prop. In the original Jurassic Park film (1993), the animated Mr. DNA helps John Hammond reveal the magic behind the cloning of the dinosaurs that roam Jurassic Park.
