The 2018 Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival has begun with an abundance of lively and stunning Topiary displays and beautiful gardens throughout the park.
The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival has been an annual event at Walt Disney World since 1993. The festival is where guests can experience specially-themed floral displays, including topiary sculptures of Disney characters and festive foods and drinks found at kiosks around Epcot’s World Showcase.
WATCH – TOPIARY DISPLAYS & GARDENS FROM 2018 FESTIVAL:
Starting today, the special and colorful event is back in full swing with an arrangement of vivid flowered displays. Here is a collection of some of the most special floral sculptures and gardens that stood out from some of the other festival scenes.
Located at the entrance of the park, guests are immediately greeted by arguably the most iconic and classic of all Disney characters: Mickey, Minnie and Pluto. The three can be seen in joyous poses celebrating the special annual festival, really setting the mood of the event.
Most iconic to Epcot, specifically, the Journey into Imagination with Figment attraction is a floral display of the dragon right outside of the World Showcase. The dragon is surrounded by huge sunflowers and an arrangement of other colorful flowers. Guests can’t help but stop and pose for a picture with the beloved dragon whose persona is very significant to the history of Epcot.
Another special floral sculpture located in Future World behind Spaceship Earth is of Donald Duck and his nephews Huey, Dewey, and Louie gardening. The four ducks can be seen in a scene of spring bliss with their gardening tools of choice: a rake, shovel and a net. If you look close enough, you can see a bee on Donald’s forehead.
One other Topiary sculpture that really stands out and will make you feel like you’re at a fiesta is of the Three Caballeros. The trio can be seen at the Mexico pavilion in the World Showcase. Each character can be seen sporting a nice pop of color with bright accessories and facial features, which really make the band members stand out nicely.
Some other topiary Displays of Disney characters around the park include Anna and Elsa, Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Timon and Pumbaa, Bambi, Daisy Duck, Winnie The Pooh and his friends and many more! Take a look at some pictures from the festival below.
To get a look at all of these special displays and more, be sure to head over to Epcot before the festival ends on May 28. To find out more information on the festival or to purchase tickets, refer to the official website.
