New Disneyland security checkpoints set to open Dec. 15

in Disneyland Resort, Theme Parks

Back in November we reported on the new security checkpoints that were coming to the Disneyland Resort. The new checkpoints are to be located at the border of the Downtown Disney District and also at the Mickey and Friends parking structure before guests board the tram.

The Orange Country Register is now reporting that the new security checkpoints are set to open this Thursday. Now all guests coming from the “Disneyland Hotel, the Downtown Disney parking area, or the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure will be screened before reaching Downtown Disney or boarding the trams.”

Disneyland Resort is planning on these new security checkpoints making it much easier for their guests to move from park to park and Downtown Disney.

The current Westside security checkpoints will be dismantled after the new ones debut.

I still really wish they would run a no bag line like they have in WDW. 90% of the time I don’t have a bag but still wait 15-20 minutes at these security checks. I have no issue going through a metal detector if I could bypass the bag check.

Great, now I get to be hassled about my ham radio in my day pack before I can even get into DTD? I am going to miss eating at Tortilla Joes…

Question, what about those coming from the Grand Californian or those getting off of busses or taxis from the Southside entrance?

Also of note: the small sidewalk from Disneyland Drive to the Mickey and friends tram stop at downtown Disney and the Parks is closing
