Adam, I would disagree. Star Trek doesn’t need to be progressive to be successful. I’m all about the science fiction and would prefer the writers not screw with a formula that’s worked very well for 50+ years. I watch this with my children and if it’s “progressive” then it tends not to be family friendly.

So to the writers if they’re reading this, keep it family friendly and be true to the story.

What does “Family Friendly” mean to you?

She probably means no icky same-gender aliens kissing – because God didn’t create aliens, since life doesn’t exist outside of Earth. Amiright?

    2. DS9 is King

Screw Family Friendly It has to be Progressive Darker and edgier, and Screw the little Children we need a Star Trek tv series where it is progressive and you have to send your little kids out of the room because the new series is more Adult.

Do you have to be so vulgar in your language describing your feelings. Everyone is entitled to there beliefs and feelings. Let us not condemn people because of religion, sexual orientation or for any other reason. There are many TV shows that have progressed along with time on what is presented. Agreed, some not so tastefully, but many that are.

Joe, you are entitled to you feelings and I respect you for that, it’s just how you expressed them, that concerned me.

  3. “Besides the obvious talking points about it being an all new adventure with all-new characters, show runner Bryan Fuller is ready to break down walls and ensure that it won’t be held down by broadcast standards. That means an edgier, more modern take on the deep space adventure:”
    I disagree. Look at https://stanfordtangoclub.wordpress.com/2015/09/21/fall-2015-progressive-series-with-felipe-martinez-and-ayano/
