Walt Disney World welcomed the baddest of them all into the Magic Kingdom during their 24-hour Rock Your Disney Side party beginning yesterday, continuing through 6 a.m. today. By day, it was a relatively average day in the park. But by night, Disney Villains took over with rare character meet-and-greets and a pre-parade that excited fans of the darker side of Disney.
As fireworks burst over the Magic Kingdom skies, the Villains came out for the evening.
A new character cavalcade called It’s Good To Be Bad brought in bad guys. This pre-parade happened twice before each performance of the Main Street Electrical Parade during the special 24-hour day, featuring a remix of one of the tracks from Disney’s Boo To You Halloween parade. Included in the monstrous mix were Oogie Boogie, Stromboli, Megara, Hades, Pain, Panic, Dr. Facilier, Captain Hook, Evil Queen, Maleficent, Queen of Hearts, Bowler Hat Guy, Cruella de Vil, Cinderella’s evil Stepsisters, Big Bad Wolf, Frollo, Sheriff of Nottingham, and Jafar.

Following both parades, the Villains dispersed throughout the park, taking over for their various heroes that normally meet during the day. Dr. Facilier replaced Tiana, Maleficent replaced Aurora, and so on.
Immediately, the combination of the Evil Queen and Maleficent in Princess Fairytale Hall (turned Scary Tale Hall for the night) brought a massive wait rivaling that of Anna and Elsa – 300 minutes.
Meanwhile an equally long line was forming for those who wanted to meet Megara and Hades, a rare opportunity.
These characters continued to meet until the wee hours of the morning as guests did their best to dress as Disney characters to show their “Disney Side.”
Whether DisneyBounding or sporting full-on costumes, many guests showed up to the 24-hour party in style.
Many guests spent the night riding the newly soft opened Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, dancing in front of Cinderella Castle, and posing for various special photo ops before the 6am conclusion of this third annual 24-hour day at Walt Disney World.
But there was a secret surprise for a few lucky guests who received tickets to enter Cinderella Castle where a very special Maleficent awaited inside. Click here to read more about this one-time movie Maleficent meet-and-greet.
