Comments for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train unveiled at Walt Disney World as a perfect blend of family thrills and dark ride fun

  1. Denny

Thanks, Ricky! I can’t wait to find out the date it will open to the public! Do you think there will be a Passholder preview? Hope so! Grins!

  2. Jeff Lynch

I see a lot of people trying to shoehorn in a comparison of this ride to Diagon Alley or even Forbidden Journey at Universal, just to say that the Mine Train is not as good. I think that’s unfair.

To me, the Mine Train is better compared to Dragon Challenge and Flight of the Hippogriff in Islands of Adventure. I saw someone make that comparison on another site today and it is true. The Mine Train is a smaller coaster like those two rides at Hogsmeade but Disney spent the money to really theme this coaster well while Universal went cheap and left all that ugly steel exposed and sitting there when they just recycled those old Lost Continent rides for Hogsmeade. I think that instead of Diagon Alley making Mine Train look bad what’s going to happen is that Universal’s cheaping out on the Dragon Challenge and Flight of Hippogriff are just going to he highlighted. I hope Universal one day goes back in and either tears out those two cheap rides and puts something else there or they at least retheme them to look as good as the Mine Train does.

Does a portion of the queue enter the cottage?

      1. Jade

Although I haven’t been on personally, all the explanations I’ve seen would indicate no.

  3. Craig

I have watched several mine train videos already and yours is by far the smoothest. How do you keep your camera so steady for the entire ride? Great Job! Did you miss the Evil Queen at the end or where you trying to save at least one surprise?

    1. Go

I guess Ricky forgot that the comment section would be the perfect place for the Craig’s of the world to reveal any surprises.

    2. Johnson

I really appreciated Ricky not spoiling the end. I just assumed commenters would do the same. It’s particularly bad to ask, “Hey, did you leave out that Darth Vader is Luke’s father on purpose or were you trying to leave some surprises?”

Craig, why not read the article to see what Ricky is trying to do instead of asking?

“After a few more turns, the backside of the dwarfs’ cottage is passed by, with some great surprises featuring returning characters from the former Snow White’s Scary Adventures ride, plus one more exciting new animated figure.

Disney wants to keep these last elements as much of a surprise as possible, which is why they are missing from the ride-through videos above, so those details won’t be spoiled it here. (They’re out there, for anyone who cares to look, but it’s recommended to not find out until riding.)”

      1. Craig

If you truly don’t want the elements spoiled then why watch any video or read any commentary on the ride. Not sure why the ending is any different then the rest of the ride. Disney has been releasing videos for the past several years to drive the excitement level and has shown the ride and it’s details over and over. It’s ok to see the brand new animatronic dwarfs but not the Evil Queen. Please explain the difference. It’s ok to show you every element of the new queue?

  4. Linda Graham

My favorite at Disneyland for many years so excited it is in Florida now

    1. AJ

This ride isn’t at Disneyland. WDW is the only park this ride is in (so far).

      1. Jeff Lynch

Linda means that Snow White is her favorite and she loves the dwarfs. She knows this is a new ride. She means she is excited to have Snow White stuff back at WDW, because it had not been there for a while. That’s how I understood Linda.

  5. Adam

At the surprise during the ending do you know how much from the original snow white ride was used in it?

    1. Keegan

Doc, Grumpy, Bashful, Sleepy, and happy are all old. Snow White, Sneezy, Dopey, and the witch are all new.

  6. star-w

wow this looks like big thunder moutuin but with snow white theming and tilting cars this WILL have HUMONGUS line at night

  7. Allison

Do you know of any dates or any chances for my family to ride during a soft opening period? We will be in Orlando and Disney from May 11th —18th? So sad to miss this by one week. Any assistance would be soooo appreciated!

  8. Chaz

I feel like the ride could have used an extra minute somewhere in the middle. I was also expecting more of a story-line instead of just “here’s the track . . . and the mine . . . and more track . . . there’s the cottage.”

Perhaps I’m being a little too harsh. After all, experiencing something in person is much different than watching it online.

  9. I was wondering if you ever considered changing the structure of your
website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people
could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only
having 1 or 2 pictures. Maybe you could space it out better?

  10. Lou

It looks like a great addition to the Magic Kingdom. I have two comments though.

The first is that the dwarf’s cottage seems to be void of color and looks kind of “washed out” in shades of tan and light brown. Perhaps some staining of a portion of the windows, some more variation in the range of earth tones and some more atrificial grass and flowers would help.

The second comment is about the sparkling diamonds in the mine. They look great but it seems artificial that they’re only on the walls and not the ceiling too, as they were in the movie. (Did they think it would make people look up and miss the Dwarfs?) I would recommend that Disney consider adding some sparkling diamonds to the ceiling even if there are not as many as on the walls. That would truly make for an awesome experience when entering the mine.

  11. What you posted made a ton of sense. However, what about this?
suppose you added a little content? I ain’t suggesting your information isn’t solid., however suppose you
added a headline that makes people want more? I mean Seven Dwarfs Mine
Train unveiled at Walt Disney World as a perfect blend
of family thrills and dark ride fun | Inside the Magic is kinda boring.
You should glance at Yahoo’s front page and see how they create post
titles to grab viewers interested. You might try adding a video or a picture or two to get readers interested about what
you’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it might bring your website
    a little bit more interesting.
