While the world waits for Disney to debut their first big Marvel theme park attraction (Iron Man Experience in Hong Kong), Los Angeles-based entertainment company Hero Ventures is already planning to take the show on the road – quite literally.
In partnership with Marvel Entertainment, Hero Ventures is creating “The Marvel Experience,” a traveling show featuring Marvel characters via today’s top entertainment technology. It was just revealed that the experience will be set inside a temporary S.H.I.E.L.D. installation / “Mobile Command Center,” like the one seen in “Thor.” This two-acre touring facility will encompass more than 80,000 square feet and tower up to six stories high.
Inside will be a 4D motion ride, 3D animated short films, digital projects, virtual reality and holographic simulators, and plenty of merchandise opportunities. More than $30 million has been invested into this project.
Cities have not been revealed as tour stops yet, but The Marvel Experience will be making its way around the United States throughout 2014. It’s as close as fans will get to a fully immersive Marvel theme park attraction – for now.
