Good. I was praying this movie would be good.

But how “perfectly nice” is Hanks’ performance as Walt? Is he playing Walt Disney or is he playing the version of Walt Disney that the company always uses?

Considering he had so much access to the actual tape recordings from the real event, Diane Disney, and the old TV shows I think its safe tp say he is the REAL Walt. Even when he was on TV Walt always played as himself and didn’t try to market himself as a being in anyway.

“It’s hard to believe ‘Mary Poppins’ almost didn’t happen.”

Don’t know if it’s in the movie, but one of the reasons we got “Bedknobs & Broomsticks” was that Walt wanted a backup plan in case Travers finally said no, and a substitute whimsical British-period fantasy.
He called the Shermans in to write a few songs for the book (which we got in the ’71 movie), and according to insiders’ stories…fell asleep at the song session. So much for backup plans.

I think that Mary Poppins is the best live action disney film, and now we have this movie show us how it came to be. hopefully this film becomes as beloved as Mary Poppins does.

  4. I can’t wait until this movie comes out. I had a rare change to be there when they were filming. It’s going to be fun to see how the parts that were filmed in Disneyland.
