2013 D23 Expo Japan presentations to include Kingdom Hearts event, Broadway concert, Walt Disney Studios preview

Disney will be bringing their popular D23 Expo event to Japan for the first time in October. The 2013 D23 Expo Japan will take place at the Tokyo Disneyland resort featuring three days of special events, now revealed to include quite a few presentations entirely unique to Japan.

10:00-11:00a: Executive Presentation by Robert A. Iger
Chairman & CEO Robert Iger talk to guests in Japan for the first time about The Walt Disney Company

1:00-2:00p: The Magic of Disney Parks by Thomas Staggs
Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Chairman Thomas Staggs talks theme parks around the world.

7:30-8:30p Disney Classics Special D23 Concert
Presented in concert, singers from New York’s Broadway and other orchestras perform a number of classic Disney songs.

October 13, 2013

10:30-11:30a and 1:00-2:00p: Tokyo Disney Resort 30th Anniversary Special Program
A look back 30 years of Tokyo Disney Resort.

4:30-5:30 and 7:00-8:00p: The Secrets of Japanese Dubbing of Disney Movies
D23 will reveal secrets of dubbing Disney characters, featuring the voice of Yukari.

10:30a-12:00p: New Walt Disney Studios Lineup
Introducing upcoming Disney movies to be released from Disney/Pixar and Marvel in 2014 from Walt Disney Studios.

3:00-4:00p: Kingdom Hearts Fan Event
A fan event for the popular game series “Kingdom Hearts,” which has shipped more than 18 million copies worldwide from Disney and Square Enix. Executive Producer Shinji Hashimoto along with actors from the “Kingdom Hearts” series are scheduled to be on stage. Included will be the production of Confidential KH, an experience that can only be seen at the D23 Expo Japan.

7:30-8:30: Disney Friends in Concert with Avex
Japanese pop group TRF (Tetsuya Komuro Rave Factory), which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, is planning a dream gift for fans of Disney artists Avex in a special collaboration.

In addition to these special presentations, D23 and the Walt Disney Archives will present Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives, featuring nine decades of treasures from the Archives’ collection. Tokyo Disney Resort will also celebrate its 30th year with a special retrospective exhibit.
