His look is irrelevant. As the Imagineer explains in the video above, Destini is not intended for permanent installation in the parks. In this instance, the “story” actually takes a backseat to the technology itself, which is the focus. This is an actual experiment, not a fake one that’s part of a story. Imagineering was legitimately gathering data to help them make this interactive software better. Ultimately, it will be applied elsewhere, to a more polished character in the parks.
