In the upcoming Summer 2011 issue of Disney twenty-three magazine, Lucasfilm’s head of fan relations, Steve Sansweet will contribute a sneak peek article about the upcoming Disney attraction, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue.

The magazine will be on sale May 3, more than two weeks before the Star Tours ride prequel opens at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 20, 2011. In the preview, Sansweet interviews Star Wars creator George Lucas who has had a big hand in shaping what the new version of the popular simulator attraction will offer guests.

According to Wired.com, characters guests can expect to see in the new 3D version of Star Tours include Darth Vader, Yoda and even Admiral Ackbar. They’ve confirmed that 54 different variations of the attraction will exist, adding that Walt Disney Imagineering was inspired to create a randomized version of the ride after seeing Disney’s many Annual Passholders continue to ride multiple times. They also quote Lucas as calling the new attraction, “Star Tours on overdrive.”

UPDATE: StarWars.com has posted two more pages from the upcoming article and more information.
