The popular Star Tours attraction will officially be closing at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on September 8 to be “reimagined” into “Star Tours: The Adventures Continue”, a new 3D Star Wars-based attraction that’s a prequel of sorts to the original.
Disney announced today that on September 7, after Disney’s Hollywood Studios has closed to the general public, D23 Members are invited to take a “final flight” on Star Tours.
Tickets will be available on Thursday, August 26 at 1 PM ET at this link for free (with a $5 ticket processing fee). D23 members may reserve a spot for themselves plus one guest. A similar “final flight” event was held at Disneyland when Star Tours closed there. Tickets were gone within minutes of them becoming available, so those wanting to attend this goodbye will want to act fast on August 26.
At the event, guests meet at the main entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and receive a commemorative boarding pass for one last trip aboard the Starspeeder 3000 to Endor with Captain Rex.
Disney recently held a special after-hours “Last Tour to Endor” commemorating the longtime attraction’s temporary closure, though it now remains open for day guests through September 7.
