This marks the end of an unannounced refurbishment project on the walkway leading up to the Character Dining location featuring Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, and Eeyore.
Unannounced Construction at Walt Disney World Resort
In late July, construction walls appeared around a patch of walkway near the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park. Over the last two months, Disney has gradually repaved the area and added more railings, making the pavement section wider.
Walt Disney World Resort never commented publicly on the project, which isn’t unusual. Disney rarely issues statements about construction that doesn’t significantly impact the guest experience, and the Crystal Palace restaurant remained open throughout this project at Magic Kingdom Park.
Current Situation Outside the Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom Park
Roughly two months after construction began, Walt Disney World Resort appears to be wrapping up the mysterious project outside the Winnie the Pooh-themed Table-Service dining location. On September 28, WDWNT reported that the plywood construction barriers had disappeared from the resurfaced patch of pavement, though rolling planters remained to block guests from walking over it.
The rolling planters block where Walt Disney World Resort appears to have installed a new curb and railings that match the existing landscaping. It’s still unclear what Disney plans to use this space for, as it is a dead end, but it could be used for additional stroller parking at the Crystal Palace or simply a waiting area for families waiting to be called to their tables.
The Crystal Palace remains open, and Walt Disney World Resort has not announced plans to close or to stop accepting reservations at the Table-Service restaurant.
