Shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, law enforcement officers responded to a violent incident somewhere in the Magic Kingdom Park/Disney’s Contemporary Resort area at Walt Disney World Resort. Here’s everything we know about the altercation, which took place minutes before the original Central Florida Disney park closed for the night.

At 10:53 p.m. on August 5, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a request to respond to an instance of “Battery (Unwanted Touching or Striking Someone)” in the Magic Kingdom Park/Disney’s Contemporary Resort Area at Walt Disney World Resort. It’s unclear whether the violent altercation occurred inside Magic Kingdom Park or Disney’s Contemporary Resort, or along the walkway between the two. The Google Maps screenshot attached to the X post pinpoints a spot along World Drive between the Disney theme park and Deluxe Resort hotel; however, the coordinates in law enforcement scanner reports at Walt Disney World tend to reflect general addresses for resort locations rather than the exact location of the emergency response.

Neither Walt Disney World Resort nor the Orange County Sheriff’s Office issued a public statement regarding the violent incident in the Magic Kingdom Resort Area on Wednesday night. Disney is unlikely to make any comments about the law enforcement response, but more information may become available through police reports or court proceedings.
What Happened to the Guests Involved?
It’s unclear how many guests were involved in the incident at Magic Kingdom Park on Thursday, and it remains unknown whether anyone was seriously injured.

In general, Walt Disney World Resort typically bans guests involved in violent incidents on its property, so that was the likely outcome of this scenario. However, it’s impossible to confirm this without more information from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
What to Know Before Heading to Disney World
According to the My Disney Experience app, operations at Magic Kingdom Park and Disney’s Contemporary Resort continued normally on Thursday, despite the law enforcement response the night before. Central Florida Disney Park guests should feel comfortable proceeding with their vacation itineraries as planned.

In general, anyone who encounters an emergency response on Walt Disney World Resort property should give the affected area space and follow all instructions from authorities and Disney cast members on the scene. Disney does its best to minimize the impact of such situations on other guests while protecting the privacy of those involved.
