Disney has started teasing its next complimentary Annual Passholder magnet, but the company isn’t ready to reveal the featured character just yet. Instead, Disney released a few clues that have quickly sent fans searching for an answer.
Those clues appear to point toward The Muppets, and more specifically, Kermit the Frog.
If that speculation proves correct, this wouldn’t simply be another magnet giveaway. It would mark the first-ever Muppet-themed Annual Passholder magnet released at Walt Disney World, giving the upcoming offering a little extra significance for collectors.
Disney has not officially confirmed Kermit or The Muppets as the theme, so that part remains speculation for now. Still, Disney certainly appears to be having some fun with the clues.
Disney World Starts Teasing Its Next Passholder Magnet
Annual Passholder magnets have become one of Disney World’s most recognizable recurring perks.
Throughout the years, Disney has released magnets featuring different characters, often making them available for a limited period at one of the theme parks. Passholders typically need to visit during the distribution window and meet Disney’s eligibility requirements to pick one up.
Now, another magnet is on the way.
Disney released its first teaser on July 28, showing a pond filled with greenery, lily pads, cattails and water lilies. One of the lily pads even incorporates a hidden Mickey into the design. Another teaser image introduces mushrooms into the scene.
At first glance, there are multiple Disney characters who could potentially fit that environment. However, the wording Disney chose to accompany the images may provide a much bigger clue.
Disney told Passholders to start clearing space on their refrigerators because the upcoming character is accustomed to being in the spotlight. Disney then teased additional offerings that will make Annual Passholders feel like stars.
Put the pond setting and entertainment references together, and Kermit the Frog becomes a pretty obvious possibility.
There may be another clue as well.
Disney’s expanded tease says there are “rainbows on the horizon” for Annual Passholders. For longtime Muppet fans, combining a frog, show-business references and a rainbow certainly makes Kermit difficult to ignore.
Again, Disney hasn’t officially said his name yet.
But it appears The Muppets could finally be getting their turn.
This Would Be the First Muppet Annual Passholder Magnet
If Disney ultimately reveals Kermit or another member of The Muppets, the release would represent a historic first for the Annual Passholder program.
Disney World has distributed plenty of character magnets over the years, but The Muppets have never received their own AP magnet.
That would change with this release.
It might seem like a relatively small distinction, especially compared to a new attraction or major theme park expansion. For Passholders who have collected these magnets for years, however, getting a character or franchise that has never appeared before gives the giveaway something different.
And the timing would make plenty of sense.
The Muppets have taken on a much bigger presence at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2026 following the opening of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets.
The attraction officially opened in May, bringing Kermit, Miss Piggy, Animal and the rest of the group into one of the park’s major thrill rides. That project gave The Muppets a new permanent home after the closure of Muppet*Vision 3D in 2025.
Now, Disney could continue that renewed push with its next Passholder collectible.
If Kermit is indeed the mystery character, Disney would be introducing the first Muppet AP magnet at a time when the franchise has fresh visibility inside Disney World.
The Kermit Clues Are Starting to Add Up
Disney could still surprise everyone.
The pond imagery initially leaves room for another possibility, including a connection to The Princess and the Frog(2009). The original report notes that the setting could potentially point toward either The Muppets or The Princess and the Frog (2009).
But Disney’s wording makes the Muppet theory particularly interesting.
The mystery character is supposedly familiar with the “spotlight.” Disney is also promising “showstopping” Passholder exclusives and says APs will feel like an “absolute star.” Then there is the rainbow reference.
Kermit is one of Disney’s most recognizable entertainment characters, and his connection to rainbows hardly needs much explanation for Muppet fans.
The pond environment fits him perfectly, too.
Of course, Disney could intentionally be leading fans in one direction before revealing something completely different. Character teasers are designed to create speculation, and Disney hasn’t provided a date for the full reveal in the information released so far.
Until Disney shows the magnet itself, Kermit remains the leading theory rather than a confirmed selection.
More Than a Magnet Is Coming for Passholders
Whatever character eventually appears on the magnet, Disney has already confirmed that the upcoming Passholder offering won’t stop with the collectible.
Additional limited-time perks are coming alongside it.
Disney says Annual Passholders can expect a special Disney PhotoPass experience as part of the promotion. A limited-time sweet treat will also be offered, although Disney hasn’t provided complete details about either experience yet.
That suggests Disney could be preparing a broader Passholder offering rather than simply setting up another magnet distribution location.
If The Muppets are involved, it will be interesting to see whether those additional offerings follow the same theme. A Muppet PhotoPass opportunity or specialty food item could turn the magnet release into a much larger celebration.
For now, Disney is keeping those details under wraps.
The company hasn’t revealed the character, distribution dates or complete information about how Passholders will be able to participate.
Annual Passholder Magnets Remain a Popular Disney World Extra
Disney World continues using exclusive offerings to give Annual Passholders reasons to make additional visits throughout the year.
Magnets are among the simplest perks Disney offers, but they have developed a following because each release is only available for a limited time. Some Passholders collect every design, while others make a special trip when one of their favorite characters appears.
Disney has already kept that tradition going in 2026.
Earlier this year, the company shared a first look at an Annual Passholder magnet featuring Nick Wilde and Judy Hopps. Now, attention is shifting toward the next character in the lineup.
And this one could break new ground.
Disney hasn’t officially announced that Kermit the Frog will appear on the magnet. Until the company makes the reveal, fans should treat the Muppet connection as speculation.
Still, there are plenty of reasons for Muppet fans to pay attention.
A pond filled with lily pads. A mystery character comfortable in the spotlight. References to stars, showstopping experiences and rainbows. Taken together, Disney appears to be leaving a trail of clues that leads straight toward one very famous frog.
Should Kermit—or another Muppet—ultimately appear on the finished design, Walt Disney World will have another first on its hands.

And after decades of The Muppets entertaining Disney fans, that first has been a long time coming.
