Construction is already visible at the Magic Kingdom Area Disney Resort hotel, and it’s expected to continue through mid-October 2026.
Closure at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
Sunday, July 19, was the final day for Central Florida Disney Park guests to experience the current version of the Grand Floridian Cafe. The Table-Service Deluxe Disney Resort hotel dining location closed for refurbishment on Monday, July 20, and, as of July 21, construction barriers already block guests’ view of the restaurant.
On Tuesday, WDWNT shared a photo of brown-and-white barricades blocking the Grand Floridian Cafe. A posted sign in front of the walled-off restaurant reads:
“PARDON OUR PIXIE DUST
Grand Floridian Cafe and restrooms are closed for refurbishment
For brunch service, please join us at Cítricos–located upstairs on the second floor
Additional restrooms are located near the lobby or upstairs on the second floor”
1900 Park Fare, which is right next door to the Grand Floridian Cafe, continues to operate normally. During the refurbishment, Cítricos will open for brunch from 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The second-floor restaurant is typically only open for dinner.
According to Walt Disney World Resort’s website, the Grand Floridian Cafe will remain closed through mid-October 2026. The Central Florida Disney destination hasn’t announced an exact reopening date for the Table-Service dining location.
This project comes amid a wave of construction at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Crews are currently rerouting a major roadway into the Deluxe Disney Resort and other Magic Kingdom Resort Area hotels, as well as performing exterior maintenance that’s affecting how guests reach the pool. Late last year, the Victorian-inspired resort debuted The Perch, its first-ever lobby bar, shaped like the golden birdcage that has been a fixture of the hotel since it opened in 1988.
