On Tuesday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a violent incident at Walt Disney World Resort’s second theme park, EPCOT. Here’s what Central Florida Disney Park guests need to know about the developing situation.
Battery at EPCOT on Tuesday, July 7

At 9:36 p.m. on July 7, someone called 911 about an incident of “Battery (Unwanted Touching or Striking Someone)” at EPCOT. Scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime shared the public call log on X (formerly known as Twitter):

As with most posts from the scanner monitoring account @WDWActiveCrime, the attached Google Maps screenshot pinpoints a location at the center of EPCOT. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that the battery incident occurred at that spot near Spaceship Earth; most emergency call logs at Walt Disney World Resort theme parks, hotels, and Disney Springs are tracked at general addresses rather than the exact location of law enforcement responses.
At this time, neither the Orange County Sheriff’s Office nor Walt Disney World Resort has issued a statement about the violent incident at EPCOT on Wednesday night. It’s unclear how many guests were involved or whether anyone was injured or banned from the Disney parks. More information may become available if a police report is written or criminal charges are filed.
What Walt Disney World Resort Guests Need to Know

No disruptions or closures are expected to affect guests visiting EPCOT or any other Walt Disney World Resort properties following the incident involving a battery on Tuesday evening. Of course, anyone who encounters a law enforcement response at the Central Florida Disney parks is encouraged to follow all instructions from authorities and cast members, and to avoid any affected areas.
