Disney has shared a first look at a brand-new fireworks show heading to one park.
Disney’s nighttime spectaculars began with Fantasy in the Sky at Disneyland in 1958, transforming Sleeping Beauty Castle into the backdrop for a nightly finale. When Disney World opened in 1971, the show crossed the country, cementing fireworks as the emotional full stop to a Disney day.

Over the decades, fireworks have become more storytelling-oriented. Happily Ever After turned Cinderella Castle, Main Street, and even the surrounding park into part of the show through towering projections, lasers, and a soaring score, while Wondrous Journeys expanded that approach over at Disneyland (although some nights are projections-only).
Today, Disney’s nighttime entertainment goes beyond pyrotechnics. Drones, synchronized fountains, projection mapping, and fireworks now work together in unison, depending on the park and show in question.

Some parks also feature special, limited-time shows for certain occasions ā with one park introducing a brand-new spectacular this summer.
Disney’s New Fireworks Show Makes Tinker Bell the Star
At Disneyland Paris, every summer sees the resort’s regular fireworks, Disney Tales of Magic, paused for a spectacular one-night-only show on Bastille Day.
This year, the park’s regular Bastille Day show has been axed and replaced by a brand-new show that is “anchored” by Tinker Bell, who will “take us around the world through classic Disney and Pixar stories.”

Tinker Bell often plays a large role in Disney’s nighttime spectaculars. For example, at Magic Kingdom, the fairy soars from the top of Cinderella Castle during the climax of Happily Ever After.
Concept art shared by @DLPReport shows Sleeping Beauty Castle surrounded by pyrotechnics and drones. The show will apparently end with a “surprise” that Disney’s keeping under wraps until July 14.

As per @ED92Magic, the show will last for 12 minutes and start with a French theme.
In the past, the Bastille Day fireworks have leaned heavily on Disney properties set within France, such asĀ The Hunchback of Notre DameĀ (1996), Beauty and the Beast (1991),Ā RatatouilleĀ (2007),Ā The Aristocats (1970).
Much like the Fourth of July at Walt Disney World Resort, Bastille Day often drives huge crowds to Disneyland Paris ā especially Disneyland Park. Guests visiting the parks on July 14 will likely experience lighter crowds at the recently-renamed Disney Adventure World, particularly in the evening.
It’s also worth noting that ongoing refurbishment on parts of Sleeping Beauty Castle (technically known as Le ChĆ¢teau de la Belle au Bois Dormant) currently blocks some areas, such as the bridge.
