On June 14, Walt Disney World Resort guests walked into Disney Springs to find that something new had been installed overnight. The news comes weeks after rumors swirled that Disney planned to close the food truck area on the West Side of its shopping, dining, and entertainment district. Those rumors were true: the food trucks disappeared in early June.
Replacement For Food Trucks at Disney Springs

When the food trucks at Disney Springs closed earlier this month, Walt Disney World Resort offered no information about what (if anything) would replace them. The West Side plaza where they once parked was empty, with only the occasional nighttime entertainment offering taking over the outdoor space.
Finally, on June 14, Walt Disney World Resort revealed its plans for the former food truck courtyard at Disney Springs. On Sunday, WDWNT shared a photo of a new outdoor seating area in the West Side plaza:
Walt Disney World Resort installed several metal tables and chairs, most covered with patio umbrellas, and additional trash cans in the area, providing much-needed shelter from the Central Florida sun. This area increases the dining capacity for nearby Quick-Service restaurants, where indoor tables fill up quickly.

There is still a large open walkway to the waterfront, but the shaded and unshaded tables and chairs make the courtyard look much less empty. Guests can grab Quick-Service meals, snacks, or drinks at places like Pepe by José Andrés, Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew, Starbucks, or Disney’s Candy Cauldron and walk over to the former food truck area for seating that may not be available at their chosen dining location.
Walt Disney World Resort did not publicly acknowledge the change, nor has it confirmed whether it has more permanent plans for the former food truck courtyard on the West Side of Disney Springs.
