After nearly a year of construction, Walt Disney World Resort has wrapped up a construction project on the World of Disney at Disney Springs. This sprawling merchandise location is the largest Disney Store on Earth.

In July 2025, Walt Disney World Resort removed the “World of Disney” sign and marquee structure from the West Side entrance to the Disney Springs merchandise location. The signage was temporarily replaced with canvas banners and window decals, but the giant multicolored sign was nowhere to be found. This made the West Side entrance to the shop harder to find at night, when the marquee sign is usually lit.

For months, the “World of Disney” sign on the West Side was missing, with no word from Walt Disney World Resort. However, this month, the Most Magical Place on Earth finally replaced the marquee and entrance sign on the largest Disney Store on the planet.

According to WDWNT, a new light-up sign appeared on the West Side of the Disney Springs merchandise location on April 8, 2026. The outlet shared this photo on Facebook:

The new sign is visually identical to the old one, with multicolored block letters spelling “World of” and a golden “Disney” in the company’s classic cursive handwriting font.

Disney cast members removed the temporary canvas banners from the store exterior, but two of the cling decals remained in the window at the time of reporting. However, Disney will likely remove these decals for seasonal displays in the future.

Walt Disney World Resort never explained its reasoning for removing the World of Disney sign from the West Side entrance to the Disney Springs merchandise location. Because it installed an identical marquee, it’s likely Disney was responding to wear and tear or an electrical issue. However, the Central Florida Disney vacation destination hasn’t confirmed this.
