Disney has made some interesting decisions regarding one of its theme parks.

While The Walt Disney Company is set to undergo some major changes next week with Bob Iger’s exit and Josh D’Amaro’s induction as CEO, some things will stay the same – including the ongoing transformation of Disney’s theme parks across the globe. As previously announced, the company is pouring $60 billion into its parks and experiences, with everywhere from Disneyland Resort to Shanghai Disneyland set to feel the benefit.

On Disney’s home turf, Disney World is receiving a new version of Cars Land and a Disney Villains Land in Magic Kingdom, Tropical Americas at Animal Kingdom, and a Monsters, Inc. land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, where the new-and-improved Animation Courtyard (renamed The Walt Disney Studios) will also open in May. Over at Disneyland, guests can look forward to an Avengers Campus expansion with two brand-new rides, a Coco (2017) ride, and a new area inspired by the Avatar franchise.

Further afield, Disneyland Paris is arguably receiving the biggest update. Later this month, Walt Disney Studios will officially rebrand as Disney Adventure World. This will bring the opening of World of Frozen, plus Adventure Bay and its accompanying nighttime spectacular, Cascade of Lights. Other additions include Raiponce Tangled Spin and The Regal View Restaurant & Lounge, where Disney princesses will meet guests in brand-new costumes.

While the major rebrand has been billed as a new era for the long-lambasted theme park, it seems like Disney isn’t entirely confident in the final product.

Disney Erases Tower of Terror and ‘Avengers’ Ride From Theme Park

A recent advertisement for Disney Adventure World showcased upcoming additions to the park – but also erased several existing elements.

✨ First look at the new advertising sport for Disney Adventure World:

Eagle-eyed fans were quick to point out the omissions of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, the building that houses Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, and the former site of the Moteurs… Action!: Stunt Show Spectacular from the ad. Cars Road Trip is also notably absent.

Each element was likely removed due to its lack of aesthetic appeal, with none of the aforementioned sites aligning with the idyllic, vast look Disney has tried to push for Disney Adventure World.

Some fans also noted that Disney has enhanced other areas of the park, such as implying that World of Frozen will consist of multiple streets and that L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy still boasts immersive 3D effects.

This amount of false advertisement for Disney Adventure World is CRAZY😭:
-Ratatouille lost its 3D and isn’t that immersive
-Arendelle doesnt have multiple streets to explore, it’s ONE dead end
-No Flight showbuilding, Stunt Show, TOT. Only care about sightlines for commercials🙃

What Does This Mean For Disney Adventure World?

Of course, the omission of Tower of Terror and Avengers Assemble: Flight Force doesn’t necessarily mean Disney plans to remove either attraction from the park.

However, both rides have been the subject of persistent rumors in recent years. Because of its location beside Avengers Campus, some fans believe Tower of Terror could eventually follow the path of the former Disney California Adventure version and be rethemed as Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT!.

Right now, the attraction follows a similar concept to the version found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The key difference is that it features three different storylines: The Malevolent Machine, The Shaft Creatures, and The 5th Dimension.

Avengers Assemble: Flight Force has faced heavy criticism since replacing Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster in 2022, prompting speculation that the “rough and painful” ride could receive a major overhaul. Shortly after opening, reports circulated that Disney executives — including then-CEO Bob Chapek and Disney Experiences chairman Josh D’Amaro — were disappointed with the final product, with Walt Disney Imagineering said to be exploring potential updates.

Nothing has materialized yet.

Still, the decision to remove both attractions from promotional imagery suggests Disney may not view them as part of its long-term vision for Disney Adventure World. Even if the rides remain untouched, some fans argue the advertisement creates a misleading impression of the park.

“It may not seem like much, but when you’re showing potential guests, ‘Look, this is the new area’ but things have been omitted and moved around… that is misleading, no?” one fan wrote on X.
