A tragic incident at Universal Studios Florida has come to light following the release of a state theme park incident report, revealing that a 70-year-old woman died after experiencing Revenge of the Mummy, one of the park’s most popular thrill attractions. The report stated, “Revenge of the Mummy, 70 yof, unresponsive, later passed away at the
hospital.”

According to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services’ quarterly report, the guest–named Ma de La Luz Mejia Rosas–became unresponsive while riding the indoor roller coaster on November 25, 2025. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The news has reignited discussions about guest safety and health advisories at major theme parks, particularly regarding high-intensity attractions. Revenge of the Mummy, which opened at Universal Studios Florida in 2004, is a high-speed, indoor roller coaster themed to The Mummy film franchise.

The attraction combines dark-ride elements with sudden accelerations, sharp turns, and brief drops, and features prominent warning signage advising guests with certain medical conditions to avoid riding.

Despite its long operational history and popularity among thrill-seekers, the ride—like many intense attractions—has once again become the focus of scrutiny following this latest tragedy.

This development arrives in the shadow of another devastating incident at Universal Orlando Resort: the highly publicized death of Kevin Rodriguez Zavala linked to the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Universal Epic Universe. That case quickly escalated into a lawsuit, drawing widespread media attention and amplifying public concern over ride safety, operational transparency, and how risks are communicated to guests.

The Stardust Racers case was settled just weeks ago, with Ben Crump Law stating that the parties reached an amicable agreement in private. Interestingly, Ben Crump–the attorney who also led the charge against the SlingShot Group following Tyre Sampson’s death at ICON Park in 2022–is once again on board and taking on Universal Orlando Resort in the Revenge of the Mummy death case.

“Attorney Ben Crump will represent the family of a 70-year-old woman who died after riding the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster at Universal Orlando Resort in November,” Click Orlando confirmed this week.

“According to a news release from Crump’s office, the family is ‘seeking answers and full transparency regarding the circumstances surrounding her death, including information related to the ride’s operations, safety protocols, maintenance history, and any available incident data,'” the report added.

Together, these incidents have fueled renewed debate across online forums and social media, with fans and critics alike questioning who is responsible when health emergencies occur on thrill rides.

While official details surrounding the woman’s cause of death remain limited, the report has added to a growing sense of unease within the theme park community. As Universal continues to expand and push technological boundaries with increasingly ambitious attractions, incidents like this underscore the ongoing tension between innovation, guest responsibility, and the critical importance of safety measures in the themed entertainment industry.
