The post-holiday season at Disneyland Resort is often a bittersweet time for guests. While the crowds thin out after the New Year, the parks typically enter a heavy “refurbishment season,” where several classic attractions close their doors for essential maintenance and theme transitions.

Following reports in late 2025 that at least 11 attractions across Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure would go dark shortly after the Christmas season ended, fans have been anxiously awaiting news on when their favorite adventures would return. This week, Disney has finally confirmed the light at the end of the tunnel with official reopening dates for three major park staples.

If you are planning a trip to the Anaheim parks in late January, here is the timeline for when these closed attractions will reopen to welcome guests again.

Pixar Pier Returns to Full Strength

Over at Disney California Adventure, two of the most popular attractions at Pixar Pier are currently behind construction walls. However, the downtime is expected to be brief.

Disney has officially set a reopening date of January 23, 2026, for both the high-speed coaster and the whimsical spinner located in the heart of the pier.

  • The Incredicoaster: Guests looking to join the Parr family on a dash to catch Jack-Jack won’t have to wait much longer. This anchor attraction of Pixar Pier is essential for the land’s kinetic energy, and its return on the 23rd marks a significant milestone in the winter maintenance schedule.
  • The Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind, located nearby, is also slated to resume operations on the same day, themed after Inside Out, a family-friendly spinning attraction. This ensures that the Pixar Pier area will be back to full capacity just in time for the final weekend of the month.

Adventureland’s Iconic Journey Resumes

Across the esplanade at Disneyland Park, the transition from the holidays is particularly significant in Adventureland. For months, guests have been enjoying the “Jingle Cruise” overlay, which adds a festive, pun-filled layer to the legendary river journey.

With the holiday season officially wrapped, the ride closed temporarily to strip away the seasonal decor and return to its classic format. Disney has confirmed that the Jungle Cruise will formally reopen to the public on January 25, 2026.

This reopening is highly anticipated, as the attraction serves as a high-capacity anchor for Adventureland. Its return signifies the end of the “holiday transition” and the start of the park’s standard 2026 operations.

The Context: A Massive Winter Maintenance Wave

These reopening dates come as a relief to guests who were concerned by the sheer volume of closures announced at the start of the year. In December 2025, it was revealed that Disneyland planned to shutter nearly a dozen rides simultaneously. This “winter squeeze” is a strategic move by Disney to prepare the parks for the heavy crowds of Spring Break and the upcoming summer season.

While the three attractions mentioned above have secured their return dates, several other high-profile refurbishments are still ongoing. These include:

  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance: Undergoing its first refurbishment since 2020.
  • Haunted Mansion: Continuing work on its expanded outdoor queue and retail space.
  • The Disneyland Monorail is also listed among the January maintenance projects.

Strategic Planning for Your 2026 Visit

If these three attractions are on your “must-do” list, scheduling your visit for the final week of January appears to be the safest bet. By January 25, the heart of Pixar Pier and the rivers of Adventureland will once again be bustling with activity.

Please note that while these dates are currently listed on the Disneyland app and website, refurbishment schedules are subject to change due to weather or construction progress.
