Navigating the Walt Disney World Resort can be tricky, especially for first-time visitors. With four theme parks, two water parks, dozens of hotels, and an outdoor shopping and dining center, guests have their work cut out for them when it comes to exploring all that Disney World has to offer.

Luckily, we here at Inside the Magic have plenty of guides meant to help travelers have the perfect Walt Disney World or Disneyland vacation.

Picking the right place to eat is a crucial part of visiting Disney.

Guests have their choice of tropical, greasy fast food options as well as high-end, luxury fine dining. Of course, at the top of the prep list is figuring out what rides and attractions to do during guests’ visit.

Magic Kingdom features the largest number of attractions of all four theme parks, but this doesn’t mean Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Hollywood Studios aren’t worth spending an entire day in.

Visiting Disney World has changed drastically over the last few years, especially in 2025, with big-name rides, attractions, and locations all closing.

Below is a list of recent closures that may affect your trip.

Guests shouldn’t expect to explore DinoLand U.S.A. at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Half of the prehistoric land closed in January, leaving just a few experiences. DINOSAUR is still open, but pretty much everything else is offline.

The last part of DinoLand will close permanently on February 2, 2026. In its place comes a new land, Tropical Americas, which will feature all-new rides and attractions.

Travelers should also avoid looking for the Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Gonzo all lost their homes this summer when Muppets Courtyard closed. This section of the park featured several Muppet-themed locations, namely Muppet*Vision 3D, a 4D theater show, and two restaurants.

This section of the park is to be replaced by Monstropolis, the fictional city seen in Pixar’s Monsters Inc.

By far the biggest development at Disney World in the last few years has been the closure of Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America. This closure happened this summer, marking the end of an era for the Magic Kingdom.

Guests no longer have access to Tom Sawyer Island or the Liberty Square Riverboat, two classic Magic Kingdom experiences. Eventually, this area of the park will turn into a land inspired by Pixar’s Cars franchise named Piston Peak.

This is to say that walking around Walt Disney World may look and feel totally different from your last trip, so make sure you know where to go, what to avoid, and what to look out for.
