Yesterday was quite the morning for Disney. Before most people even finished their breakfast, Disney made several announcements that would change the course of the parks over the next year.

It started with Disney announcing that the Muppet takeover of the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster would be ready by Summer 2026, and that the animatronics in Frozen Ever After were getting a makeover. But that was the end of the good news for Disney fans.

Then came the price hikes. Disney announced that it was raising prices on nearly everything at Disney World and Disneyland, including tickets, annual passes, Lightning Lane, and souvenirs. The final blow came when Disney announced that nearly all food prices at Disney World would be going up.

Iconic Disney World snacks like popcorn, the Mickey-shaped pretzel, and the Dole Whip would all see price increases of between $.30 and $.50. Bottled water and soda at the parks would also increase by $.21 to $.25 each.

It wasn’t just snack carts that saw price increases. Nearly all of Disney World’s sit-down and quick-service restaurants, including iconic Disney World locations like Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Hollywood Brown Derby, and 50’s Prime Time Cafe, saw price increases.

Most of the increases were from a few cents to a few dollars, depending on the type of meal. However, despite the relatively minimal increase, it starts to add up once guests factor in the other price increases that came today. These price increases also come on top of increases Disney already made to alcohol offerings at the parks.

It seems odd that Disney would raise prices overnight, but with the fiscal year ending on September 30, it was inevitable that prices would go up. And now guests know just how much more expensive a Disney World and Disneyland vacation will be in the coming year.
