While part of the appeal of Disney as a theme park destination is that its parks are open 365 days a year, that sadly isn’t always the case.
Unplanned closures are rare but usually tied to safety concerns, most often severe weather. Walt Disney World has shut down for hurricanes on multiple occasions, including for Hurricane Milton in 2024. The parks also closed after the September 11 attacks in 2001 and, most notably, for extensive periods in 2020 (and, in some cases, 2021) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Beyond Florida, Disney parks even closed more than once, while Disneyland Resort remained shut for over a year.
Some parks have also reduced operations by closing on select days. Hong Kong Disneyland, for instance, previously shut its gates to guests every Wednesday for extended periods. The resort now plans to remain open daily for the foreseeable future.
On rare occasions, Disney has also closed its theme parks due to private events at the park. Like any venue, Disney parks can be ā and are ā bought out by private companies for internal celebrations or occasions. While this doesn’t mean the park closes for the entire day, it does mean its hours are drastically shortened, with guests forced to look elsewhere for entertainment on these occasions.
For example, Disneyland Paris routinely has several days in the run-up to Christmas where both Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park shutter early for cast member parties.
In Orlando, Disney’s Animal Kingdom closed at 5 p.m. earlier this week for what was presumably also a private event. This followed a similar early closure for Disney’s Hollywood Studios at 6 p.m. earlier that same month, meaning guests had to go without an evening performance of Fantasmic!
Now, Disney has confirmed even more early closures ā and let’s just say that guests won’t be happy when they hear quite how many days are impacted.
Disney Confirms Long List of Early Closures
Both Disneyland Paris and Walt Disney Studios Park (soon to become Disney Adventure World) are set to close early on multiple days in November.
A breakdown shared by DLP Report confirms that private holiday parties will impact both parks.

For example, Disneyland Paris (technically known as Parc Disneyland) will close at 7 p.m. on November 18, 20, and 27. It will also close at 8 p.m. on November 28.
Meanwhile, its neighboring park will close at 7 p.m. on November 14, and at 7.30 p.m. on November 18, 20, and 27.
The downside of these closures (other than the obvious fact that guests will have less time to enjoy Star Wars: Hyperspace Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Crush’s Coaster, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror) is that guests are left with relatively little to do in the evenings, despite these dates falling in the middle of the resort’s Disney Enchanted Christmas season.
While Disneyland Paris does boast its own shopping and dining district, Disney Village, it’s far from the same level of buzz and variety as Disney Springs or Downtown Disney. It’s also undergoing a fair amount of construction right now, which also limits your options when it comes to evening entertainment.
On the plus side, the hotels dotted around Disneyland Paris ā including Disneyland Hotel, Disney Hotel New York ā The Art of Marvel, and Disney Newport Bay Club ā all boast their own bars, which will presumably remain open on these evenings.
