Disney World is famous for its long list of rides and attractions, though there’s one category that may fly under most guests’ radars: the shows. While guests can find thrilling roller coasters like Expedition Everest and Space Mountain, as well as classic dark rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, the parks also have their fair share of incredible live experiences.

These experiences are spread across the entire Walt Disney World Resort, though Disney’s Hollywood Studios has the highest concentration of live shows. The park has been operating its Beauty and the Beast and Indiana Jones shows for decades, with many considering Hollywood Studios’ Fantasmic to be the quintessential way to end a day at Disney World.

The park’s Little Mermaid live show has been offline for quite some time but is set to return soon. While this is exciting news, guests will want to know that this attraction is coming back with an additional charge.

Disney has updated the My Disney Experience app to feature the Lightning Lane logo for The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure ahead of the stage show’s opening on May 27, 2025. This means guests will be able to book Lightning Lane reservations for the show when it opens. However, it’s unclear if the show will be part of Lightning Lane Single Pass or Multi Pass.

Lightning Lane Single Pass works just like it sounds, letting guests book a single reservation for a select ride or attraction. Prices for Lightning Lane Single Pass ranges between $9 and $35. Lightning Lane Multi Pass lets users book up to three attraction reservations at a time, with the chance to book more once these have been used. The cost of a Lightning Lane Multi Pass typically runs between $15 and $30.

The app also reveals that performances of the show will be held between 9:15 a.m. and 7:15 p.m.

This shouldn’t come as a surprise for those accustomed to the Disney parks as of late, with several other attractions and locations getting their own upcharges. Most recently, Disney World confirmed an add-on package for its new bar coming to EPCOT. Named GEO-82, this bar/lounge offers guests 21 and older a sweet and savory escape, providing a space for them to unwind and relax with a stiff drink and some small bites.

However, for an additional charge, guests can opt for a special fireworks viewing package that allows them to catch EPCOT’s nighttime spectacular from the comfort of this new lounge.

Guests can purchase the GEO-82 Fireworks Experience as part of the Enchanting Extras Collection and watch Luminous: The Symphony of Us right from their table. Disney describes this new offering as a “perfect” way to end the day at EPCOT.

However, this won’t come cheap, with the new package costing a hefty $179 per person. This price does not include theme park admission to EPCOT, meaning that in total, this experience will easily rise above $300.

Disney also recently confirmed price hikes for its annual Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party. Ticket prices for this spooky event will range between $119 and $229, with the top number representing an increase of $30 over last year.
